Captain Nicos Kountouris

Captain Nicos Kountouris is the Founder of Aviator Flight Center, an EASA Approved Training Organization (ATO) that operated from 2000 to 2024, training pilots who today fly across the global aviation industry.

With the introduction of the JAA and later EASA regulatory frameworks, he served as Accountable Manager and Head of Training, overseeing comprehensive flight training programs, ensuring regulatory excellence, and mentoring aspiring pilots throughout their aviation journey.

Guided by a deep passion for sharing experience, knowledge, and aviation values, Captain Kountouris later established a Declared Training Organisation (DTO) with the aim of promoting aviation and delivering world-class training to carefully selected trainees who aspire to become true aviators, driven by professionalism, discipline, and excellence.

With decades of operational airline experience and extensive instructional expertise, he continues to mentor and guide the next generation of aviators, combining technical training, leadership development, and coaching principles.

Captain Kountouris holds a comprehensive set of aviation qualifications and instructional ratings, including:

  • Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL)
  • Single-Engine Piston (SEP) and Multi-Engine Piston (MEP)
  • Instrument Rating (IR/SP/SE/ME)
  • Flight Instructor (FI)
  • Class Rating Instructor (CRI SEP/MEP)
  • Multi-Crew Cooperation Instructor (MCCI FNPT II/III)
  • Crew Resource Management Instructor (CRMI)
  • Type Rating Instructor (TRI) – Airbus A320

He also holds a UK-accredited Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership and a Diploma in Professional Coaching and Mentoring accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), further enhancing his ability to support individuals in leadership development, decision-making under pressure, and aviation career growth

His global career spans Scheduled airlines, Charter services, ACMI operations, and Business aviation, with type experience on both the Boeing 737NG and the Airbus A320 family.
